Tell your children 'No'
Learn to tell your kid no. No, they cannot have that cookie. No we can’t go inside. Teach them how to deal with rejection, with failure. Teach them to LOSE. Why? So they learn how to build character, gumption and class. Yes class. It takes class to have someone yell in your face and you tactfully tell them to go to hell, so they actually look forward to the trip. They need to learn that the world does NOT revolve around them and their bubble. Their art isn’t the most magnificent thing you’ve ever seen, and their face isn’t made for tv, its made for radio. Sound too harsh? Please let me explain...

The Hidden
The Hidden One moment, a mere second. That’s all it takes for your world to crash all around you, for your life to burn you beyond recognition. For some it’s a lesson, others the final straw. Thankfully my moment although at the time seemed to consume me, was the beginning to an epic adventure and the greatest lesson I have ever learned. To be courageous and have hope. No matter how dark the world seems, have hope. No matter how scary your choices seem to be, have courage to stand up. Take that step forward, fight back, show them they’re wrong. So powerful were these words to me I had them branded upon my skin. Proving to myself and others, I fought back, I got out. That yeah, the night is always darkest before the dawn, but damned if I’m not gonna have one hell of a dawn coming my way.

Right Vs. Right Now
In this world we’re offered so many choices, so many avenues to go down. Unfortunately, many of us get so wrapped up in the moment that we forget to ask ourselves if we should travel down that path, myself included. We see the shiny lights, the Hollywood ending, and fail to realize it’s a movie, a story, a social fed outlet to enrapture us into submission. Don’t ask questions, don’t rock the boat, and we get to a point so far from our destination with only pieces of ourselves left because we’ve either traded it away for things we thought would make us happy, or gave it away like candy on Halloween to earn favor, counting on random people to be our barometers of happiness instead of standing our ground, and knowing our worth.
