Just tell me, okay?
I think what bothers me most about high school relationships is that no one wants to speak up. Not just romantic relationships, though that kind of ties in here. But specifically relationships where one person clearly has feelings for the other, and yet chooses to say nothing. Then, some catalyst happens where the other person doesn’t reciprocate these feelings (that most of the time they have ZERO knowledge about) and the former person snaps and gets upset. A lot of times ending the friendship.

A Glimpse pt 1- The Beginning
Natalie. 18. August 2013 As I unloaded the last lime green plastic tote from my Toyota Camrey, I sigh heavily after placing it on the large flatbed cart. I doubt the elevators will be very easy to access right now, especially since only one of them was currently operational. This dorm building is one of the oldest on campus and this was freshman move-in day. It's crowded, the parking lots are packed and it's a hike up to the dorms from the lots. My mom is probably up in my dorm room already. I'm sure she is "taking in the space" so she can decorate it with the upmost organization and maximum appeal of my color scheme chosen over my text with my roommate.

Unknown and Alone
I have not been home since 8 am Thursday. Have not been physically outside since 10:30 am Thursday. Went to a regular check up appointment and was told they didn’t want to risk anything so they sent me here. They didn’t even tell me what they are trying not to “risk”.

'Spirited Away'
As the first Ghibli film I ever saw, I asked my roommate what she spiked my coffee with. Don't worry, I love this movie now that I have sat down and appreciated this artistry for what it is; definitely one of Studio Ghibli's best. A few years later, my roommate and I made her then boyfriend (now husband, bless him) watch this with us for his first-time viewing. Only one word came out of him after the credits rolled: "Damn." I dragged my brother-in-law to a vintage theater to watch it with me, and overall he enjoyed it (I think). My husband one day just decided he wanted to watch it with me. Now, this was not an opportunity I was going to pass up. If someone who doesn't know much about or really particularly love Ghibli movies, asks you to watch one, it does not matter if you are in the mood or not. You watch it right then and there, because you may never get this opportunity again.

#KuriStory
#HeyKuri Powdered paint is messy. But it's OK, because I have Clorox wipes in my left side desk drawer. Clorox wipes are best for cleaning up powdered paint. Mother always makes sure to check if I have enough Clorox wipes to clean my desk and so-help-me-God the gray carpet from powdered paint.

How Harry Potter Teaches Adults
As a 22-year-old adult female, I firmly believe I can and have been taught by the story of the Boy Who Lived. Harry Potter is so much more than a children's series about a boy who gets to be the hero of a magical world. He faces death, depression, isolation, betrayal, love, hatred, sacrifice, friendship, heartbreak, and in a total and complete way, loss that no teenager should ever have to experience. Most adults would never be able to cope with what Harry's teen years consisted of. And yet, that is what makes him the Boy Who Lived.

My Worst Date: The Legend of Strum Strum
#MyWorstDate My junior year of college, I was at a get-together when I started talking to this guy. We had been in classes together and we were the same major. He was 23, a super-senior (college for 5, not 4 years). He was pretty decent looking, charming, and very intelligent.

Because I Have a Voice
As a lover of history and a film major, historic biopics are my go-to genre of enjoyment. An aspiring director myself, these films inspire me to dig deeper into the stories I want to tell on the screen (plus, binge the heck out of the history of the subject of whatever movie I'm currently watching on Wikipedia). The fact that these films are based on real events and people excites me so much, it makes me feel more connected to the stories. One of the biggest inspirations of my career choice, is "The King's Speech", directed by Tom Hooper.
