My life changed the day I saw those two lines on my test. That day I didn't know my whole future would change forever.

September 12, 2016 was the day my period tracker told me to take a test. I didn't think anything of it. I went to the store and took a test. I headed for my family friend's store and went to the bathroom and took it. Two lines showed up before five minutes. I sat there, scared and excited for what was about to come, and stared at those two lines that just seemed to look back. 'Everything happens for a reason,' I thought. 'We were using condoms and birth control, something must have failed.' I finally went out of the bathroom and told my boyfriend to come with me. He was there hanging out with some buddies of his, and we went outside. I told him about the app and how the test was positive. He hugged me and told me we would talk more when we got back home.

A couple weeks later I had been job searching and heard back from McDonalds. I ended up getting the job and things were great. I went to doctor's appointments every month like normal. I worked in the drive through and took orders/cash. I wasn't allowed to lift more then twenty pounds, so I wasn't that useful. Days went by and I was doing the same thing over and over again.

December 27, 2016 came around and that's when my whole life took a turn. The positive was, the baby was healthy and a girl! The negative part is they told my family and I that my placenta was too close to my cervix. I immediately started asking a ton of questions. I asked if I possibly had it with my first since I remember it being low. She said more then likely, but it probably was further than what it was when she checked, 'cause they normally tell when its low. She asked me if I had been experiencing bleeding. I was really confused and said yes. She told me that things will probably will be alright but she would send the results to the doctor. specialized in reading the ultrasound. I went home and did a bunch of research on "placenta close to cervix." Of course, I should have waited to talk to my midwife, because reading the articles made me go crazy. I found out the term used was Placenta Previa. It's rare and not many people get it, but if you get it once you're more likely to get it again. You also have a higher risk of getting it if you have had a child before. I also read that mothers that have full Previa have to have a C-section at 35 weeks so they don't go into labor and bleed out. The more and more I read up on it, the more and more I cried. I cried thinking my body failed me. I cried because I didn't know what to do. My doctor's appointment was still a bit away, and all I did was cry. My head was spinning, my heart was broken.

When my doctor's appointment finally did come around, she told me there was nothing to worry about. She said I had the lesser form of it and told me it was called 'Low-Laying Placenta' and that it would more than likely move out of the way. Of course, after my appointment I did the stupid thing of going back to the internet. I read that I had a 10 percent chance of it getting worse, and once again I felt like I had let my child down. I went to YouTube and listened to "In My Daughter's Eyes" by Martina McBride every day. It helped me get through my emotions and helped me feel better.

After that ultrasound, I had to continuously get ultrasounds to make sure it was moving out of the way. my last ultrasound said that it was 8 cm away from my cervix, which was a long way from the 2 cm it used to be. She informed that I could go naturally and that after 8 cm, I would bleed more, but everything would be fine. While I was there I asked her to help me speed along labor, I was 37 weeks, and she left and came back with a paper saying my induction date.

Two weeks went by and it was now May 11, 2017. I went to the hospital at 7 o'clock to check in and get ready to have my baby girl. They put me on Pitocin and a medicine for Strep B. At 1:07 PM they checked me and I was at a 3, and 80 percent effaced. Labor progressed slowly and at 1:48 PM my contractions got to the point I was crying so I told the nurse I wanted an epidural. I got one at 2:12 PM and ended up going through a shift change an hr or later. I was still progressing slowly. At 4:11 they checked me and told me I was at a 5. At 5:56, they came in and checked me and said I was a 6/7. My dad and grandma stopped by at about 6, and at about 7 the nurse put a big peanut-like ball between my legs. My dad and grandma left at 7:30 and 7 minutes later I paged a nurse in because I felt the need to push. She said that I was at a 10, and she ran to called my midwife. The nurse told me to push once and then told me to stop and wait for the midwife, who stopped in the middle of dinner to drive to the hospital to deliver my daughter. She got there at 7:50 PM, and at 7:52 my daughter was born, all 6.12 pounds 20 inches of her. I told my midwife that I wish to have her placed on my for skin to skin. She said OK and placed her on my chest. With my first I had hemorrhaged, and so she had to push on my stomach hard to make sure I wouldn't again. Then she gave me pain medicine for the pain I had after I had her, and a pill I had to take every six or so hours and pushed on my tummy to make sure I didn't hemorrhage again. I left the hospital on the 13, and a bruise appeared on my tummy. Now, I'm not religious, but to me it looked like an angel on my tummy. An angel was definitely with me that day.

May 15, 2017 more pronounced bruise then the 13.
