Staying In Touch with Family

Introduction

When it comes to talking to your family, you may live in another area or clear across the sea, so make sure that you know how to keep in touch with your family when needed. Here are a few ways you can do to keep in touch with your family if you have moved or if you want to just stay at home for a little bit without leaving the house.

Meet Up for the Day or Night

If you both live in the same area or you want to just drive a few miles, then you can meet up and have some fun. There are a lot of friends and family members that meet up so that they can just have some coffee and chat for a little bit. If you have kids, then you can let them play at the park while you talk to your friend for a little bit.

Facebook

Facebook has been a great way to talk to all of your friends and family. Facebook as a call function where you can talk through phone and video calls when needed. If you don't want to do that then you can just text through Facebook messenger so that you can all keep in touch, but if all of your friends and family don't have Facebook, you can move on to skype.

Skype

Skype is a program that you download which makes phone and video chat calls that you can use with your friends and family that have Skype as well. You can download it for free and there is a paid option for more items but you won't need any of them to chat and talk. Skype has great video quality and even the call quality is great depending on where you are located within the states or overseas. If you have a spouse that is deployed, sometimes it may be better to use another free program called Oovoo because the quality works better if you are across the sea and want to talk to your other half.

Oovoo

Oovoo is another program that is like Skype but when it comes to certain areas of the world, certain things might not work like they would on Skype. For example, the video quality for Skype might not be as great as it would be for Oovoo. I personally like Oovoo when it comes to video quality because it is a little clearer than the Skype video function. When it comes to the phone quality, usually both programs work better but other than that you can use either or to keep in touch with your family.

Letter Writing

If you like to write old school, then just start writing letters and sending them through the mail if you don't live close to each other. Writing a letter is a great way to keep in contact with a friend and or a family member so that you will never have to go through life beating yourself up over not being able to contact your friend or family. If you don't want to use the computer, then write a letter and send it through the mail.

Final Thoughts

When it comes to keeping in touch with family and friends, you have to make sure that you try and keep everyone connected. I personally use Facebook and I try and write letters to my friends and family but sometimes talking on the phone is better. If you don't live close to each other, then try these things out but if you live close to each other then try the face to face method instead. Both of you can meet up and have coffee or something like that. These are a few things that you can do in order to keep friends and family around.
