Things You Need to Know

Alright, so you're wondering about pregnancy and all its scary wonders? Well, here you go. I'll be telling you about this miracle from all sides.

The woman's perspective is where we will start our little journey. First of all, I'd like to say you can't mentally prepare yourself for this no matter how hard you try. No matter how hard you say 'I'm ready for this,' you're not. You can't prepare for being responsible for another human being. Everything about that person will be your responsibility till they're 17 then it's basically nothing else you can do. Till then, you are responsible for taking care of it, protecting it, and shaping its little mind. This will be up to you. That's a scary thought. I was scared out of my mind. Scared, but excited. I was a 17-year-old girl that got pregnant. So, everyone was at my throat about how I was going to take care of it. Hopefully, that isn't your situation.

You're gonna get mean and PMS the whole time. Every emotion is times one thousand. You are going to get so mad at your significant other it will test your relationship. You'll cry for no reason at all. So prepare for a serious emotional roller coaster.

You also have to do a lot physically, not just mentally. You have to change your diet a lot. No fish, no greasy foods, no soft cheeses, no deli meats, only whole grain bread. The list goes on, and on. It's ridiculous! I now know the difference between Sprite and Sierra Mist. One is like lemon-lime, the other is fruity. That's how much I've drank caffeine-free Sprite for during pregnancy, because caffeine is bad for the baby. I'm from the south, I love sweet tea, so this was hard for me. Very hard! You'll also feel all that movement around month 5. You will feel internally abused. Don't even get me started on the dragon breath called acid reflux. Milk will be your best friend.

Another thing you have to do physically is moisturizing. I mean, go to your local Walmart and find a big tub of coconut oil and slather yourself with it. All those places like between your thighs, on the tops of your thigh area, your stomach, and your boobs are gonna stretch. They're gonna itch from all that stretching they're about to do. You don't want stretch marks like you just got out of war now, do you? I think not.

Also, don't forget those DHA prenatal vitamins. They'll make the baby smart!

Alright, now I don't have too much to say about the Dad perspective, but here's what I do have to say. Dad's your gonna be just as scared as she is, but your gonna have to be her rock, her stable foundation! You have to put up with her mood swings, an all her weird late night cravings. Rub lotion on her belly. Tell her she's pretty, make her feel special. She'll need all that lovey crap you have to offer her. Don't forget, most women's sex drive goes through the roof when they're pregnant. She will be like a dog in heat the whole nine months, so give your pregnant lady all that love and affection she needs. Download What To Expect on your phone; you'll need it. It's a purple app. It's free for Android, but it's a dollar on the Apple App Store.

Well, hope you learned something from my lovely story of pregnancy. Please don't forget to share with all the preggo ladies in your life.
