So Many Questions

The first thing anyone says to you when they find out your pregnant is congratulations. Pregnancy is an amazing thing that women can do, we can create life. That’s amazing and yes congratulations are in order. But maybe you just want to hear, “you're pregnant, how do you feel? What can I get you? This is going to be hard but here are some things you can read or questions you can ask or things you can look up.”

I’m pregnant and I just found out about 2 weeks ago and I have no idea how far along I am. I don’t know what to read and I’m confused on what’s even happening to my body. The day after I found out I started the never ending throwing up and of course the constipation which of course no one tells you about it in tell you have it. I went to the hospital a week after I found out I was pregnant due to having sever abdominal pain and not being able to keep anything down not even water. I had an ultrasound done and I found out that my baby wasn’t even formed yet and that at this point it could be a hit or miss if I stayed pregnant. So of course with not having any information about what’s going on and not knowing if I'm going to keep this little piece of me, I started freaking out. Which of course you shouldn’t do because they say it’s not good for the baby.

There’s so many questions and so many answers and of course you have no idea which one applies to you and which ones you should ask. There’s also so many amazing medications out there that may or may not work for you. And of course so many medications that can hurt your baby. With all of these questions and with all of these articles and here try this or try that, which one am I supposed to do.

I’ve tried several things and for awhile they all seem to work and then they stop working. The ginger candies, which of course always burn my throat and don’t last very long. The saltine crackers that help, which feels like forever but then stop after awhile and your throwing those up too.

I’ve tried so many different things and each one doesn’t last very long. I read an article that said to switch things up so your not having the same thing all the time. Tried that and yea it helps for awhile but when there’s only a few things out there that help with the nausea and vomiting how do you switch it up so that your body doesn’t get used to it? With medications and little snacks to keep you going and sane then the questions start.

When you first start experiencing the pain and discomfort and vomiting which for some odd reason some women don’t get which doesn’t make any sense at all and of course there’s no article saying why some pregnant women have this and some pregnant women get that. You have no idea where to turn for answers to your growing questions. I’ve read article after article about different things and none of them really answer the questions I have. What’s going on in my body? Why does everything hurt? Why can I one day keep down my medications down and why do I throw them up the next day? So many questions which of course I can’t find answers to or I find to many answers and I don’t know which one is for me.

Like I said in the beginning I have no idea how far along I am. When I first found out they said 4 weeks, then I got an app that tells you what your baby is growing this week, And it said I’m 10 weeks pregnant. Then after all the fun of being in pain and constantly throwing up and going to the hospital, I was told that they're not even formed yet. That there still two little circles. And then today going to my doctors to get some answers and something to help me on a daily basis I heard my baby’s heart beat which was about 147 beats per minute and it was a little tiny dot like a popcorn kernel. They told me the heart rate was good and strong and that my baby is doing good.

Hearing that made me very happy but it only brought up more questions and of course the same ones that no know can tell me. How far along am I? I was given new medication this visit and it was amazing but of course there’s always that one BUT in every thing you try. This medication of course will make you tired and you can’t drive or work while on it. So of course you can only take it when your not working or planing on leaving the house for at least 12 hours.

I guess for every pregnant woman out there, they're all going through the same thing or similar things as this and have no idea what to do about it. So like every article I’ve read and every doctor I’ve seen I guess it’s up to me to figure out what works and what doesn’t and try to figure out my own answers.
