What happened to her?

Everyone has seen those movies where you have a picture-perfect family. Well, that's how Miharu's family started out.

The father was happy, she had an older brother, mom was happy, everything was joyful and outgoing. Until her mom started leaving more and more. Her dad started to drink because he was depressed that the mother kept leaving. Her brother was always quiet. Soon her mom stopped coming back, her father started to get abusive and drunk, and her brother ran away leaving her with a monster.

One night the mother came back with another brother. Dad was in jail and they had to go bail him out at 3 in the morning. That night they packed up their things and left. They moved to another house and had visits with their dad. But he had lost everything except for a daughter who believed in him no matter what he did. She trusted him more than her own mother. Soon she ended back up with her mom and things went to hell.

She started school, the mom had men in the house all the time, and she barely ate. She would get bullied in school and as she came home she would get raped. This happened every day. Soon one of the men tried to touch her brother but she was so protective over him she didn't want anything to happen so she stood up and said: "Don't touch him...take me."

They barely ate. Miha had to dig out of garbage cans to scavenge food; she took food from the neighbors, and leftovers from school. But she never ate much of it. She always gave it to her brother and maybe had two pieces out of each serving. She wanted her brother to grow up strong.

A few months go by and the same thing's going on but this time she comes home to the front door open. She drops her things running inside afraid something happened to her brother. But he was sitting on her bed just staring at her. So she took a piece of paper and pencil and wrote, "We are going next door." She was angry but they went to the next door neighbors and asked if they could stay there because nobody was home.

Later that night the mom came home with another man. She was pissed at Miharu and tied her and her brother's hands to the doorknob. After 5 hours of sitting there tied to a door pissing on herself, they finally let her free. She would go to bed, Mom would leave for work, and the man would be back. The next day she was so fed up with it all she told her teacher, the teacher told the principle, and the principle called DSS. They pulled her brother out of the house and her. They took them to DSS office.

They spent a few nights as parents only wanted the baby (the brother) and not the little girl who remembered. Soon they found someone who would take them both. They lived there for a few weeks but then moved out because the brother was thrown and hurt.

They got out into another home after a month. The lady was kind and very loving. And she adopted the kids, but soon after the adoption the brother was getting everything he wanted and the girl turned into a house slave. She would clean every day and do other things. And she would get yelled at, put down and beaten by a switch off a tree. One night she cried in the tub and started cutting. The adoptive mother walked and got angry. So she went to cut off a switch and beat her in the shower. A few nights go by and the lady comes in to watch her wash. The child starts to cry and becomes afraid that she's gonna get hurt in the tub in her underwear. She gets beat again for it. This continues on until one day the mother accuses her of lying. So she pulls out scissors and cuts the hair off her head screaming at her.

She goes to school crying her eyes out and the teacher calls DSS. DSS comes to investigate and she tells everything that's been happening. She and her brother are split up and she's moved to another house. They are much nicer but only another parent of the other foster kids screw up her life. So she's moved again.

This time she is in a new home, 13-years-old or 14. She is afraid to shower, afraid to ask questions, and doesn't talk much. The family tries to talk her through everything and finally gets her to shower on her own. She cries every night afraid something bad is gonna happen. She lives in fear for a little while but everything is fine. She's being fed but she doesn't eat much. She talks but doesn't say much. She goes to school and talks with her friends. After 7th grade ends she moves to a new school and meets some new people. She stays quiet in class but ends up becoming more outspoken by the taught of her peers.

Soon she speaks more at home. Mom teaches her how to do things and tries to teach her how to cook. Months go by and everything is fine.

2 years have gone by and nothing has changed. So she and the sister talk about adoption. She doesn't know if she wants to be since last time it went so rough. So another year goes by and she finally asks to be adopted. She has been living there for 3 years at this point. The mom says yes and adopts her. The adoption finalizes in April of 2016.

But ever since everything is fine, but she's become lazy, to herself again, and depressed again. She gets put down all the time, doesn't express how she feels about things and keeps things hidden like: who she likes, who she wants to date, and many other things. She has started to lie, afraid she is gonna be beaten for telling the truth.

She is now a senior in high school, depressed, fighting many demons, fights with her mom because nothing she does is right, and the mom wants her to be like her kids. She goes to therapy and tries to talk things out but doesn't trust anyone. She clings on to guys who understand her and that are close to her. She only gets along with guys and not females because that's all she's ever been around and the females she has tried to get along with she can't deal with their crap.

She tries day in and day out to do her best but her mom bitches at how she doesn't help around the house and how she doesn't do anything. But Miharu works, babysits the other foster kids, and doesn't hang out with anyone. Everytime she gets called into work she goes. Just yesterday when it was raining she saw how beautiful the rain was for the first time. She's not happy... but she's not miserable like in the past. She just can't deal with someone pushing her too far. She holds in all her emotions and tries to do what she's told.

Miharu tries her hardest every day, but it never goes noticed by anyone. She is strong and has gone through hell and back, but she's also still fighting.
