Morning Motherhood

How do you like your coffe?

Ahh! Nothing like waking up and starting your morning routine with a hot (or cold) cup of coffee.

There's new ravenous techniques in brewing your own coffee to get a more "authentic" brew. However, I prefer a good old fashion coffee maker; ya know, the one you plug into your wall. I have tried so many grocery store brand coffees and I literally am never satisfied with the taste or the strength. From New England to Starbucks, nothing ever hits my palette with a WOW!

I am a mom of 4, I rarely have the extra cash or time to spend making my own coffee in one of those fancy brewers. I envy women with no children or should I say less dedication in mothering their children; the ones who get to spend time...alone...quiet...viewing the world without 4 little monkeys asking you 20x for a fruit snack even though they haven't had breakfast yet.

My mornings are quite the entertainment. 7 AM calls for an early wake up from my infant daughter and toddler son. My daughter gets put in her walker and my son gets sat on the kitchen counter while I start my coffee and cook his chocolate chip pancakes. 7:15 it's time to wake up my 5's, one of which always wakes up full of spunk and smiles, whilst the other already doesn't want to go to school when she's only been in kindergarten for 6 weeks. I mean how can my almost 6 year old be so dramatic already? SOS!

By 7:30, I'm either one or two cups in of coffee and finally able to think straight. Back packs checked over for the second time, to make sure no papers were missed. Kids are dressed, fed and by now brushing their teeth. Oh, great...tooth paste on the shirt. Change of clothes number 2. Socks, shoes and out the door to get them to school on time.

Third cup in, I'm on my way home from dropping them off and listening to Blippi's CD and singing all of the words to "The Excavator Song." Which is now stuck in my head until nap time.

By the time I get home, my cup is dry and I'm ready for a nap! How is that so when I've had 3 cups of coffee?!

Motherhood is tiring. I can only hope that one day I will get a full day of quiet, by myself. No husband, no kids. I mean...a girl can dream right?

Plus, I know after about 3 hours I will start missing them. #lifeofamotherof4 #someonesendsupernanny #help
