Five Must-Have Products for the Colicky Baby

Tips From a Real Mom

Being a new parent is one of the hardest jobs there is. Especially if you have a baby that suffers from colic. A lot of first-time moms don’t know what baby products work to help soothe their baby, so they unfortunately fall victim to spending their hard-earned money on products that just don’t work. As a mother of two myself, I have spent my fair share of money on those not-so-good baby products as well as those miracle products that every mom searches for. These are the five products I use every day that make having a new baby so much easier.

1. The Nosefrida Infant Mucus Sucker

Every mom knows that a baby with mucus can be a problem. With my first baby, I had the traditional bulb nasal aspirater. The suction was very minimal and it seemed to only suck out the mucus that was directly visible in the nostrils. With my second baby, I had an electric nose sucker and the suction was just about the same as the bulb and it got clogged so easily. So finally I heard about the Nosefrida, and let me tell you, it is amazing! It is able to suck out the mucus deep in the baby’s sinuses and it is so easy to use. Don’t waste your time with any other nose products!

2. The Auto Rock-and-Play Sleeper

The Auto Rock-and-Play Sleeper is a life saver for a colicky baby. Both of my newborns absolutely loved this product. It cradles the baby in a taco-like position that makes them feel comfortable and safe. It also rocks automatically which saves you the trouble of having to rock it by hand for who knows how long while the baby falls asleep.

3. The Halo Sleep Sack-Swaddle

Don’t worry mom, there is such a thing as the perfect swaddle. There’s nothing more comforting to a colicky baby than being tightly snuggled up in a swaddle. I’ve tried everything from muslin swaddle blankets to alternate brand velcro swaddles and nothing made my baby’s happier than the Halo Sleep Sack. You have to try it and see the difference it makes with soothing your baby. It also promotes safe sleep which is always admirable.

4. The Ergo-Baby Carrier

My colicky baby NEVER lets me put him down, which made doing everyday tasks such as cleaning and grocery shopping impossible. That is until I met my best friend the ergo baby carrier! This carrier not only holds your baby close for ultimate comfort, it’s also amazingly comfortable for you! The strap placement puts absolutely no pressure on your back. I wear my baby in this every day while I get things done around the house and in town.

5. Mommy’s Bliss Gripe Water

Unfortunately, colicky babies suffer from stomach discomfort and gas most of the time. Sometimes my baby is grunting and pushing all day trying to get the gas out. If your baby suffers like mine does, you have to try Mommy’s Bliss gripe water! It gives your baby the relief from tummy problems almost immediately and it’s safe enough that you can give it to your baby up to six times a day! The ingredients are simple as it is only made from fennel and ginger. The night time gripe water is amazing as well and helps your baby get some much needed sleep.
