There are many things that shave me and becoming who I am. Many of these are things in which to help me positively for example, my family, my group of friends, and even my dog. On the downside, I do have those things that sheet me negatively. There may be those that disagree, but we are all humans, and nobody is perfect. One thing is for sure though, my parents are the people that made me who I am today and taught me that life is worth living for e There are many things that shave me and becoming who I am. Many of these are things in which to help me positively for example, my family, my group of friends, and even my dog. On the downside, I do have those things that sheep me negatively. There may be those that disagree, but we are all humans, and nobody is perfect. One thing is for sure though, my parents are the people that made me who I am today and taught me that life is worth living.

Many may say it’s a cliché to say my parents, but I can’t lie it’s the truth. Parents have been there since the first day we opened our eyes and whether anyone can agree with me or not they are the closest thing we have in our life. Our parents love us for who we are and are the first to give their own lives for us. No matter what the situation is, or what we’re going through, they’re always by her side helping us every step of the way. For me, I would say I love my mother, Rosa, and my father, Welner, for the people they are, each with their own unique characteristics.

First there’s my dad; My dad is a short 10 man, with coal black hair, and then all over the place personality. There are times in which I present him to a friend and all he does is talk and talk to them. Like a TV, my dad does not know when to stop until they shut him off. Also, at the same time there are those moments in which he is happy and surprisingly quiet for the whole day (in other words zen) that his vibe rubs off on whomever and makes them want to have a quiet day. My father is the only male in my family out of five girls he works extremely hard to be able to provide for us. Currently he is working in a roofing company called Coles Roofing Co. there he is the leader of the group and if the manager is not there, he is the one to direct the group. There are times in which it is raining outside or it’s too cold or too hot, that the company does not allow them to work. My father being the only one working in the household, I know puts him in a lot of pressure. Even with the pressure over his shoulders, he always finds a way to provide for us. He also always comes home with this joyful spirit never revealing the emotions he truly feels inside. Although there are those moments, my father stay strong and always shows the bright side of everything. He is a wise man and in an all, he demonstrates the importance of family and how they should always come first.

Now my mother, Rosa, is another story. She’s very feisty, but shy, she can be a perfectionist at times, and has her moments in which she makes the whole room laugh with her corny jokes. “What do you call a fake noodle?” she asked, The silence spread through the room and all anyone could hear was the breeding of each individual in the enclosure. She then answered and said, “An im-pasta” while cooking some noodles. Although it wasn’t as funny, just by combining her laugh and having her laugh at her own joke, she managed to make the whole room chuckle. My mother is one of those people that always trusts in what that person may say, she believes there’s always an exceptional side to every person. Like many, she is one that when she needs to, she will speak her mind and when she does, she make sure the message goes through. She is a caregiver, no doubt; I will never forget the day all my sisters and I were ill. My mother made sure each of us had the right aid we needed that the whole night she didn’t sleep at all, just to make sure we were okay. my mom is a woman of many super powers, she always places our needs before hers, just as any parent would.

Opposites attract, according to my parents, this statement is true. They have two different attitudes but somehow, they make it work perfectly. Without both of these two people, my life would be a whole different story. My parents came from El Salvador to this country looking for new opportunities to start a new life. My dad came to America when he was 17 and my mom came here when she was only 19. Both coming to support their families back in their country. Somehow only knowing little English they manage to make a living and for that I applaud them. Two years passed by and eventually they met through my mother’s sister and from then on, they got married a year later and had me which was the biggest blessing I have ever received. Later, they had four more “babies,” as my dad calls us, even when introducing us to anyone. “These are all my five babies” he would say. My mom and dad have been through so much in their life and yet they have never lost hope. They always tell us “ If you want something in life, never give up, strive to achieve it, and do your best.”

Their story and their advice are the things that have taught me to be who I am today. Their unconditional love and strong personalities show me to never give up and always believe in myself, even when no one else does. I admire them for keeping a happy energy in crummy times are trying their best to help us in any school work or in any occasion. I admire their ability to always push me up when I’m down, forgive me everything I needed, and for loving me no matter what. My parents are my role models, my best friends, my counselors, my strength, and my extraordinary superheroes.
