This is the first chapter of my book.

This is one of my favorite songs right now because he is talking about his inner self and his demons. I felt it went with the theme for the book.

Hi, my name's Levi and no I don't know why my parents decided to call me that. I never even met my parents, they put me up for adoption days after being born only for my grandmother to find me and take me in. All I know is that I have a brother and an aunt on my mother's side and that is pretty much all they would tell me. Where am I now though... standing in line waiting to meet this other side of my family.

You see three days ago my wonderful loving foster parents decided they were going to pack up and leave with no note and no goodbye, just a plane ticket to, wherever the hell Clarkesville, Oregon is to meet part of my "family." To add to my misery I live in beautiful California, and now I'm moving to a place where the sun only comes out about twice a year. It's not like I don't want to see these two elusive family members, it's just that I don't know them and if they are just as irresponsible as my dodgy parents are it's going to be even worse.

So that's why I'm standing here in line behind a very impatient looking man and a mother who looks very much done with her two crying kids, awaiting my turn to board the plane. Why these people want to go to the middle of fucking no where, I have no clue.

I snap out of my reverie when the flight attendant asks for my ticket. "Oh, I'm sorry," I dig into my pocket for my ticket, and hand it the lady.

She takes it and smiles. "Have a nice flight sweetie." I smile back to her and walk down the hallway to board the plane, and once I'm in the plane I find my seat in the front because I can't stand sitting in the back. I put my headphones in and wait for the plane to take off.

We had finally landed, as I said before the middle of nowhere. I walk off the plane and onto the asphalt, because obviously a place like this doesn't have a proper airport, of course. I walk into the building and look for this "family member" of mine. I look to my right when I hear someone calling my name.

"Levi! Levi over here." It was a woman who looked in her thirties. She had dirty blonde hair like mine, there was a boy right next to her, must be my other elusive family member (so the picture I uploaded as reference was at first what I wanted him to look like, but looking at it now I like him better with short hair, but you can imagine him looking any way you want). All in all we looked similar so, I guess that was plus. They walked up to me and the woman started talking to me, "Hi Levi, how was your flight?"

I hesitated for a second, "Ummm, fine I guess."

They both looked at me awkwardly before the boy started talked talking, "Well I'm Jasper, your... half brother, I guess," he scratched the back of his head before starting again, "And this is our Aunt Eden, our mom's sister."

Aunt Eden reached for my luggage, "I can grab it if you don't mind." I handed her my suitcase and we started to walk to her car. "So your first day of school starts tomorrow." I inwardly groaned about having to go to school. "I tried to get them to let you start later, but the school said no, so sorry honey." We all got into her car and she started the drive to her house. I stared out the window wishing I was still in sunny California and not here, but like I said before I'm glad that I am finally meeting some of my family... even if I have a different father.

We finally made it to Eden's cottage and I was surprisingly not upset. It was a cute gray cottage-styled home with thick brown pillars. I got out of the car still staring at the house, while Jasper went to the trunk to get my luggage.

"So how do you like it, I know it's probably not what you're used to, but I hope you like it." Eden walked up behind me and put her hand on my shoulder and I turned to face her and gave her a smile.

"Any home is better than no home at all."

Jasper walked up to me with my luggage and said, "Well Cali around here we take our own luggage," I gave him a dirty look for the nickname and he handed me my bags and gave me a charismatic smile. "Well Aunt Eden I will see you and Cali over here in a couple of days."

Jasper walks to the dark red old Jeep in the driveway and drives away down the quiet street.

"Well I guess this is my new home...maybe it will be better than the last"....

I hope.

This is how I see her, if you were wondering.
