An Introduction to My Life

The Start to a Day in the Life of a Mom of Two

My name is Jessica. I am 24 years old and I am a stay at home mom. I have two children: Tristyn is seven and Teagan is one. Their father and I have been together for almost three years now. We live in Northern Colorado and have a crazy life sometimes. Right now, we are getting ready for Christmas like most families. This story is the first in many that I plan on posting about our life, family, and any stories that I feel like sharing.

The first story I plan on sharing is how Jeff and I met and our first date. Jeff and I met on a dating website. We hit it off right away. I thought he was amazing for being a single dad and doing everything he needed to do to take care of his little boy. I wasn’t afraid to date a single dad. I was more worried about meeting his son and whether or not his son and I would get along. Jeff and I tried dating once in September 2014, but it didn’t work out at that time. We kept in touch though and spent time together on Thanksgiving in 2014. That was the first time I had met Tristyn. He was this itty bitty four-year-old that didn’t know what to think of me at first. I pulled out my laptop and let him play games on there while he sat on my lap. I wish I could still find the picture of Tristyn and I that Jeff took. It was absolutely adorable. After that day Jeff and I talked off and on. I texted Jeff at the beginning of March 2015 to see if him and Tristyn wanted to hang out with me one day and we could take Tristyn to Chuck E. Cheese’s and have an awesome day.

On March 29, 2015, Tristyn and Jeff showed up at my place dressed to impress. They were both wearing button ups and jeans and looked great. I decided to wear a batman t-shirt…. I was not aware that this was going to be a date. I thought it was just a casual hang out day. We drove to Chuck E. Cheese and bought pizza and tokens for Tristyn. He had a blast! They had a jungle gym there that he climbed into and as we stood there and watched Tristyn climbing around Jeff tried to put his arm around me. I found any reason possible to get out of it. I didn’t know what he was trying to do. After we were done at Chuck E. Cheese I got Tristyn to talk his dad into going to Fort Fun to play mini golf and ride go-karts. While we were playing mini golf, Jeff decided to pull me into a kiss. That is when I realized that this was more of a date than anything else. I was definitely not complaining though. We spent a couple hours at Fort Fun playing laser tag and mini golf. Then, we went for ice cream and to the movies to see whatever Spongebob movie was out at the time. We left the movie early. Even Tristyn said he didn’t like it! We went to Walmart to get a few things then we went back to my house so Jeff could get his car and take Tristyn home to put him to bed. On the drive back to my house I decided to make things awkward and ask Jeff what we were and where this was going. He told me he wanted me to be his girl! I was pretty happy about it. Ever since then the three of us have been inseparable. There was one point that we broke up for a month. Then we found out we were pregnant with our beautiful baby girl, Teagan. She has been a blessing to our family. My little family means everything to me. I hope you all enjoy the stories that will follow this one!!
